Athletic trainers with their knowledge of musculoskeletal injury care, and understanding of patient factors and work factors are well posed to positively support case outcomes from a case management perspective.
Athletic trainers in the industrial setting are often responsible for managing claims from initial visit to discharge even if they are not the ones delivering care. This program will review the history of case management and why it is a critical tool, the characteristics of a good case manager and what function they must serve, as well as principles of case management and how to deliver the best case management. This course is great for those who are involved in any aspect of case management at their workplace, and those would like to be more informed about the process.
